Session description: The session will focus on the importance of optimized and scientifically based species selection in toxicology and safety studies, in which the importance of considering the Göttingen Minipig will be presented. Furthermore, the opportunity of developing and using transgenic Göttingen Minipigs as an animal model in pharmacological studies and the impact on species selection in toxicology and safety studies will be discussed in this session.
